Sales Development Rep

Position Overview

As an SDR on our sales outreach team, your primary objective will be to provide prompt email and phone response to inbound prospects and execute high volume outbound outreach campaigns.

Position Responsibilities

  • You will offer same day email and phone follow up to all incoming leads / prospects.
  • You will promptly engage our prospects to qualify if they meet our ICP (Ideal Customer Profile).
  • For qualified prospects, you will schedule appointments with a SUMO Account Executive, who will manage the product demonstration, pricing, and contracts phase of the sale process.
  • You will execute high volume outbound outreach campaigns via email and phone, in an effort to drive new business.
  • You will offer any additional assistance to the sales team to drive new business development.


  • You have a minimum of 2 years of customer-facing experience in sales, customer service, or professional services.
  • You have a minimum of 2 years as an SDR with successful outbound experience using Outreach, Sales Loft, or similar software.
  • You are self-driven, are extremely responsible with follow-up tasks, and passionate about helping our sales team win new customers.
  • You are incredibly articulate on the phone and have excellent email writing skills.
  • You have a technology background and are comfortable discussing complex solutions to non-technical people.
  • You have expertise in understanding the business processes, and systems involved in running organizations.
  • You have a track record of over-achieving in past positions.
  • You hopefully have strong CRM and Salesforce experience.
  • You thrive in a startup organization / entrepreneurial environment.
